This year’s

Gloria Shields/NSPA Media Workshop

has gone virtual.

While that’s different from past workshops, it gives our workshop the ability to serve more journalism students and advisers than ever before.

As in the past, we welcome larger publications staffs to to join us. But we also serve students and advisers as individuals and small groups. And, yes, that includes student journalists joining us solo, without an adviser. You’ll get a rich training experience.

How will that work? Here’s the basic structure and schedule.

Consultation appointments

For staffs who will meet in evenings or Friday, you can register for a 50-minute one-on-one appointment with our consultants or instructors. Consulting cost is $50 for each 50-minute session.

As a bonus, staffs registering for the coaching plan can have evening meetings and take part in our town halls. During that time, our instructors will be bouncing in and out of your virtual meetings to offer feedback and advice on your plans for the year, such as themes, publication designs, staff structure, etc.
